Haircut

I have been wanting to get Jenna's hair cut, but have been dreading the battle to get it done.  Finally, Sunday evening, I decided my hair had to get cut and so did hers - we both looked WAY too shaggy.  I told Jenna that we were going to Smart Styles to get our hair cut.  She said YAY!!!!  I figured her exictement would wear out when she figured out what was going on.  Much to my suprise, it didn't.  She climbed up in the chair, let the beautician put the cape on her, and cut/style her hair.  Needless to say this was one AMAZED Momma.  To those of you who know Jenna, know that she is shy and an introvert.

Sorry they are not the best pictures.  Nevertheless, her hair is shorter and looks much healthier.  It had been 6 months since her first/prior haircut.

Learn-A-Lot Preschool and Daycare

We have been wanting to get Jenna into pre-school.  She is 3.5 and is a little sponge and we want to make sure she gets plenty of information to absorb.  We were just confused about how 2 parents that have full time jobs are supposed to coordinate picking up and dropping off to preschool at 9:30 and 11:30?  So I found a daycare that has a pre-school program.

Jenna and Shelby had been going to the same daycare since February 2011 and the provider was another Grandmother to the kids.  It was a tough decision to make, but we felt that strongly about getting Jenna into preschool.

Anyway, the girls started daycare on Monday and Jenna started preschool on Tuesday.  These pictures are from her first day of pre-school on Tuesday!
Can you see the rainbow in the background?
Jenna was making some funny faces because of the storm that was rolling in!
There was a beautiful full double rainbow in the sky as I was dropping the girls off Tuesday!

 Other side of the rainbow!
I guess that was a good omen to the start of the pre-school year!

I Love You Like, Crazy Girl!

Lyrics from Crazy Girl by Eli Young band have been running through my head.....

Crazy girl don't know that I love you,
I wouldn't dream of going no where.
Silly one come here let me hold you,
Have I told you lately, I love you like crazy girl!

I took these pictures after church on Sunday after being at the zoo all day Saturday.

Indianapolis Zoo

I told Lance early this spring that if we didn't do anything else this summer, that I would like to take the kids to the zoo.  Well, as summer is starting to conclude, we still had yet to go on family vacation or do anything of the nature.

Jenna had been counting, but would stop and start and be silly with it.  Lance and I bribed told her if she could count to ten that we would take her to the zoo.  So last week she started at one and made it to thirteen in the correct sequence.  If you are curious, eleventeen comes after thirteen in Jenna's counting!

The weather was supposed to be beautiful over the weekend so we planned a trip to Indianapolis to the zoo!  A great time was had by all!  (I think we took 120 pictures!)

Daddy and Jenna checking out the cheetah!
They had some strange looking creatures at the zoo!
Jenna loved the ocean area, here she was checking out the sting rays!
 Beautiful ocean fish

Can you see the polar bear?
Stopping for a drink break.  All this excitement makes a girl thirsty!

There was a "shake-shake" bridge on the way to the White Rhino exhibit.  They had fun jumping on it!
The girls had a blast at the zoo.  I see another zoo trip in our future!

Around the Yard

If you noticed my pictures from my park blog, they are bad.  My camera was dropped onto a ceramic tile floor while attempting to be loaded into the camera case.  That was the end of my Sony camera.  It had been a good camera for the 6.5 years I've had it and for the 6400 pictures it took.  So, it was time to invest in a different camera.  I purchased a Canon, which I have been pleased with so far.  Yesterday's sandbox blog pictures were also taken with the Canon.

Here are some other random photos I have taken around the yard.
Jenna took off her shoes to play in the sand.  She left Giraffe to guard them!

This airplane was flying low, with a good zoom, it looks even closer!

Testing out the zoom on Jenna, someone's not happy!
