Kittens

 We were offered some kittens from a local farmer.  Lance decided last Wednesday after daycare to take the girls and pick them out.  I met them at the farm and we picked out 3 kittens.  The first picture is of Momma cat.  She wasn't too friendly and the kittens were even less so!

Jenna picked out her kitten which she named "Jingle Bell".  It is an orange tiger striped male. 

 

Shelby picked out her kitten which she named "Percy".  It is a black tiger striped male.

I picked out a kitten.  He is ugly and cute all at the same time. I believe is is a female and she got the name "Cocoa".   

 

Their first night at our house it was supposed to storm.  I told Lance we should keep them inside, so he agreed to letting them stay in a rubbermaid tote in the basement with the baby gate on top.  We fed them and watered them after playing with them.  We acclamated them during the day and then were bringing them in of an evening.  They stayed in the house until Sunday night when we had enough and decided they needed to learn to survive outside.  We have had them for a week and they seem to be getting along with Spot (our only cat left out of last year's 8) okay. 

35 weeks

I am not really certain how two more weeks have passed and I haven't blogged anything.  There are all kinds of things going on around the house that I will have to catch you up on.  Meanwhile, I will keep the baby posts going!

I had another doctor's appointment to check in on Baby Brother Monday. He again had a strong heartbeat at 140 bpm. Swelling has gotten worse as the weather has gotten hotter.  However, my blood pressure was very good and better than 2 weeks ago!

How far along: 35 weeks
Have you started to show yet: If you miss I am pregnant now, you must not be very observant...
Total weight gain/loss: From my first appointment to today, I am +14.5 pounds.
Belly Button in or out? there is no where left for lint to hide...
Rings on/off: still on
Size of Baby: About 18 inches and estimated at 5.5 pounds! He should be gaining an ounce a day.
Weird Changes: Nesting instincts have kicked in.
Sleep:  Baby boy seems to wake up when it is time for me to go to bed. 
Best moment this week: Girls are getting very vocal about their desires for his name to be something different that what Daddy and I are talking about.  It will be neat to see who wins.
Movement: He is getting VERY strong.
Stretch marks? I have noticed 2
Food cravings: nothing sounds good, everything is full of salt, and my belly just simply doesn't hold anything anymore.
Food aversions: salty stuff
Gender prediction: The ultrasound revealed external genitalia
What I miss: rolling over in my sleep without waking up
What I am looking forward to: finishing up packing my hospital bag and getting those last few tasks complete. 

33 Weeks

I had another doctor's appointment to check in on Baby Brother Monday. He had the strongest heartbeat I have heard at 142 bpm. Swelling has not been as bad lately. My blood pressure was very good!

Total weight gain/loss: From my first appointment to today, I am +12.8 pounds.
Belly Button in or out? not really concave anymore, it is just flat
Rings on/off: still on
Size of Baby: About 17.5 inches and estimated at 4 pounds! He should be gaining 0.5 pounds a week now.
Weird Changes: watching my belly move
Sleep: Cannot get enough!
Best moment this week: Lance wanting to feel him move so I poked at him and he responded. Then the doc put Doppler up to my belly to listen to his heart and he kicked at the Doppler wand!
Movement: He is getting VERY strong.
Stretch marks? I have noticed 2
Food cravings: fruit, milk
Food aversions: nothing really sounds or tastes good anymore
Gender prediction: The ultrasound revealed external genitalia
What I miss: reaching the floor and my feet easily
What I am looking forward to: it’s still too early, but meeting the little guy
