Good Girl Shelby!!!!
Shelby and I had our 34 week doctor's appointment this morning. I talked to Dr. Mann about the abdominal pain I had on Wednesday late evening / Thursday early morning. He asked why I didn't call in and get checked out. I told him that I was hoping the discomfort was due to my breech baby going into the head down position. I asked if he could tell me how Miss Shelby was positioned in my belly and after he pressed and poked on me he said he was 95% sure she was now head down. Good girl Shelby! That makes both mommy and daddy very happy (now just stay head down)!

15 months
Jenna had her 15 month well child visit on Wednesday morning. She is growing, but is still a small girl. She weighed in at 21 pounds 8 ounces, fully dressed with a diaper and shoes. Meaning she still has not tripled her birth weight (a milestone that is often met at the 12 month mark). She now has 8 teeth, 6 on top and 2 on bottom. She is working on at least 4 more bottom teeth right now. She has met all the milestones we were expecting at 15 months, now we need to work on her usage of eating utensils.

Curious George
Jenna has definately been very curious about everything in her surroundings lately. While in Clay City over the weekend, she thought the window sheers were the most fun thing in the world. I know at least 3 of them came down while she was looking out or playing peek-a-boo!
It has taken me a little while to update tbe blog, because someone was having fun with the computer/camera cord one evening. Mommy picked it up and put it "up".... and put it "up" a little too well. It took me a little while to remember where exactly I had put it. Therefore, I have been in a blogging frenzy tonight, check out the other two new postings!
Peek - A - Boo Daddy!
She has been exploring all my kitchen cabinets, any trash can she can find, the toliet paper roll, the toliet, closets, drawers, and anything else she thinks might be interesting. Lance and I are finding out how well we have baby proofed our homes and making new adjustments to protect the Curious George that lives with us!It has taken me a little while to update tbe blog, because someone was having fun with the computer/camera cord one evening. Our Weekend
This past weekend we went north. We wanted to help Grandpa Stan celebrate his birthday, plant a little garden, and have some family time.... most all of which we accomplished.
Between Friday and Saturday's storms we managed to get a little garden planted. The potatoes, green beans, and carrots joined the onions in the garden, before we got rained out. We thought Jenna may be interested in helping, but she was a little afraid of the loose sandy soil and found it very hard to walk on. Maybe she can help more later in the summer or next year.
Sunday afternoon we had Granpa Stan and Grandma Janet over for lunch. Stan and Jenna had lots of fun playing with her blocks.

Jenna got excited about knocking Grandpa's first tower over!
Then she started helping Grandpa build it up again!
They built several tall towers and played for a good while with the blocks!
It was a whirlwind trip, but overall a very nice weekend! Hopefully we can get more garden planted when the weather cooperates. Thank-you Ivan for bringing over the tractor and tiller and tilling us a big garden spot!
Inheritance
My Aunt Delores called me one day and said she had some stuff she wanted to give me for the girls. My Grandpa Gumbel had made his kids each a rocking horse, back in the days when he did woodworking and my aunt wanted to get rid of hers.... so I inherited it! I am so very excited! My mom still has hers, but as she says, the kiddos can play on it, but it's HERS. Jenna was a little scared of it at first, but now LOVES to play on it. She can mount and unmount the horse all by herself.
I got out the camera to take her picture riding the horse and she just wanted to play with the camera.
Along with the rocking horse came 2 baby quilts for Shelby. The one on the left is a gift from my Grandma and Grandpa Gumbel and the one on the right is from my Aunt Delores.
I am very greatful and blessed to have inherited these wonderful keepsakes.

Baby Update
Today we went to see the OB to check up on the baby. I started the morning in ultrasound. Dr. Mann was worried because I am measuring big. He doesn't want me to have a 10 pound baby and he wants to make sure that I am not carrying a lot of extra fluid.... so he ordered and ultrasound to make sure the baby's growth is on track and momma is doing okay.
The ultrasound revealed quite a bit of good news, but a little bad news too. We are still having a girl, she is weighing 4 pounds and 6 ounces. That puts her in the 59th percentile for a baby in the 32nd week of gestation. They measured my fluid levels and they were at the very top end of the normal range. Her heart rate was 134, which was a little slower than her typical, but she was also in a "napping" phase when they took it.
We did learn today that she is in the breech postion. Dr. Mann said he would prefer that she were already head down, but she still has 8 weeks until our due date, so she has time. I asked him at what point we should be concerned or be thinking about our options and he said at the 36 week appointment. I guess she has 4 weeks to get head down before I SHOULD be worried, but I am worried about it now. The thought of them force flipping her or of having a C-section don't thrill me too much.
Lance and I have decided on a name... well a first name at least.... Shelby. We have talked about/picked out several middle names, but haven't decided/settled on one definately.

Bubbles
Tuesday afternoon when we got home it was so pretty that we went out in the back yard and played. Jenna had got some bubbles for Easter, so I decided I would how she reacted to bubbles now that she's mobile.
She ran around the yard, chasing them with a squeel of delight. Her level of excitement was adorable! She ran around and just chased them everywhere. Then she fell down and sat there and I blew the bubbles to her and she just giggled as they popped around her!
She started to lose interest and act like she wanted to swing.

Crazy Hair
Jenna's hair has really been growing. Unfortunately it is getting longer in the back and not on top. I got this picture while she was playing in the tub!
I got a good laugh when I picked her up from daycare tonight. Theresa has hair and nail day usually at least once a week (she watches mostly only girls). Today, when I walked in, this is what I found...
Do you see her two horns?

14 Months
Today, Jenna is 14 months old. She continues to amaze us every day! This morning, I found 2 more teeth. I have not been searching every day because she has a tendancy to bite anything that gets close to or into her mouth. Both new teeth are on top, her other I tooth and a tooth farther back that feels much like a molar. I believe that makes a total of 7 teeth, 5 on top and 2 on bottom.
Happy Easter to all!

30 Weeks and No Hospital Visit
Tomorrow, I will officially be 30 weeks pregnant. I had my last 4 week interval doctor's appointment this morning. Everything seems to be going okay.
The last time I had a doctor's appointment I went downstairs and visited my friend April, who was on hospitalized bed rest. I did not get to visit with her today because after 40 days in the hospital, she got to go home (for continued bed rest). She has made it to 32 weeks and the babies are measuring right at 4 pounds each. Of course, the longer she stays pregnant the better it is for the babies, so we are still praying for her.
