Jenna's Rentchler Party

On Friday Jan 21 all Farm Credit Services employees along with their spouses were invited to Louisville for the "Big Event, Celebrate 2010".  We celebrated 25 years of the Farm Credit System.  We had arranged it with my sister to watch the girls on Friday, meet up with my mom and have Grammy and Poppy watch the girls Friday night and Saturday.

Lance and I had a nice time in Louisville.  That was the first night that we had both stayed away from both of the girls.  It seems as if the end of January and beginning of February have some pretty busy weekends.  My mom suggested having Jenna's birthday a little early.  We celebrated Miss Jenna's second birthday with the Schenk's, Beckley's, and Rentchler's.

Here is the cake that Mommy and Daddy got for Jenna.  She LOVED eating the polka dots!
I told her the candles were hot and she blew at them, but could not manage to get them extinguished.
She knew exactly what to do with the wrapped presents.
Jenna shared her new toys with cousin Ciara.
The kids had a nice time playing together.

Visits

Saturday night, we had a little family get together with Ivan, Angel, Kaity and Kent.  I did not take my purse, so I didn't have a camera, so I don't have any photos of the kids playing together.  Jenna took a little bit to warm up to her cousins.  Once she finally did, they had a ball playing together - literally!  They got out a ball pit and the kids had LOTS of FUN playing.  Kaity brought out a Koosh ball (see picture below) to join in the mix.
Ivan introduced her to the "hairy ball" and she was absolutely terrified of it!  Ivan threw it to me and I tried to get her to play with it and she still wanted nothing to do with it.  The adults decided that Lance and I needed to invest in a few of them and put them in places that we wanted to keep Jenna out of or away from.

On Sunday, some classmates from Purdue came up from Vincennes to visit.  They have a little girl that is almost a year older than Jenna.  We had a nice visit with the Althoff's.  It was a weekend of visits, which was nice to spend time with family and friends.

Up Do's

While Jenna was sitting on the potty over the weekend, Mommy fixed her hair.  It was not perfect, but I thought it looked cute.  She looks so grown up with pigtails!

How could Mommy fix Jenna's hair and leave Shelby out?  Shelby got her first alfalfa sprout over the weekend.  She looked so adorable.

7 months

Miss Shelby turned 7 months old as the New Year rolled over.  She is growing like crazy!  Daddy wanted her to wear her John Deere outfit and bibs.  I think she looks a little boyish.
She wants to chew on anything that she can can get her hands on.

December 2010

December brought Christmas and decorating for Christmas.
What would December be without snow....
...and little people playing in the snow?
Miss Shelby turned 6 months old and could sit up on her own!
Shelby in front of the tree.
Jenna in front of the tree.
We celebrated Christmas with the Gumbel family.
We celebrated with the Hofmann family on Christmas Eve.
We celebrated with the Rentchler family on Christmas day.
(Thanks Angel and Carla for the pictures of the families at Christmas)
After Christmas, we laid low until the New Year came around.

November 2010

We resume regually scheduled programming.  In November Miss Shelby turned 5 months old.
 She is growing SO quickly!
There were not a lot of pictures taken in November, because we were busy packing and unpacking.  We moved back to our house on the farm in November.  Both sets of parents helped with the move.  My parents had some fun playing with Shelby's vision....
 Jenna cheesed for the camera!
We attended the circus on Thanksgiving.  It was a nice treat for the girls.
Lance celebrated his golden birthday.  He was 28 on the 28th.  He wanted a picture with his girls on his special day!

October 2010

October brings Halloween...
 ... and two little pumpkins.
This is the pumpkin Jenna decorated at daycare.
My cousin Megan got married.  We went to Spring Mill State Park camping with Papaw and Grammy, Matt, Carla, and Ciara, and the Davis family.  Morgan, Ciara, Jenna, and Macon had a good time playing together.
The playground at the park was lots of fun for the little people (and the big people too)!
Not only did we have fun playing, but we also had some good quality family time!
Aunt Carla watched the girls one day and got a good Halloween picture of them!
Happy Halloween 2010!

September 2010

The first weekend in September was the Labor Day holiday.  Christa, Jenna, and Shelby went camping with the Rentchler's and their group of camping friends.  Shelby sure did make a buddy out of Joe!
Jenna was definately a little fire craker.
Papaw started harvest, so we didn't see much of him, but the girls did get to spend a little time with him.
 Shelby at 3 months old.
The Hofmann Family started harvest too.
Daddy and Jenna spent some time together in the combine.
Shoes started taking off walking around the house (with a little help from Jenna).
Meanwhile, Shelby rocked the cowboy hat!

August 2010

In August, Shelby turned 2 months old.
Mommy, Daddy, Jenna, and Shelby went to the Locks and Dams park to play at the play ground.
 Jenna loved swinging.
Christa started her new job with Farm Credit Services of Mid-America.
One Saturday morning I fed Shelby and took a shower.  When I got out of the shower, this is what I found.
No little farm girl would be whole, without a tractor ride.  Shelby got her first tractor ride with Papaw when she was just shy of 3 months.

July 2010

July 2010 we started taking pictures of another Hofmann family member, Evan the Teddy Bear.
Jenna became a little monkey and fell in love with climbing and bananas!
Jenna spent more time playing the pool.

 and playing with Miss Shelby!
Towards the end of July, Daddy fed Shelby her first bottle, becase Mommy was gearing up to go back to work.  However, I didn't go back to UK, I was preparing to start a new job with Farm Credit Services.
I took the girls to Portrait Innovations to get professional pictures done.  Jenna at almost 18 months.
Jenna at 18 months and Shelby at almost 2 months.
Just before I started my new job, we went on vacation.  We visited the the Appalachians in far eastern Kentucky.
and had a very nice time!
