Stool Photo leads to Rolling Over

When I went back to work on Monday, there was a pretty white box. Inside the box was a wooden stool with Jenna's name carved out and the letters painted. Some cooperators that I work with graciously gave us this adorable gift! The letters are removable and it doubles as a wooden puzzle!

She really didn't want to lay pretty with it, so this is the best picture I ended up with. I plan to take a couple more to see if I can get a pretty facial expression and her with the stool.

When she decided that she didn't want to have her picture taken any more, I put her on her belly. Lance and I were sitting there on the floor with her and she went from her belly to her back. She rolled over! I put her back on her belly, but she wouldn't do it again....maybe tomorrow.

Back to Work

Yesterday was my first day back to work. It wasn't too bad, because Jenna got to go with me. She was a pretty good little girl. I woke her up at 6:30 to eat and get dressed. We made it plenty early, which was my first fear. Then in the afternoon, she refused to take her nap, so she was a little fussy. Overall, she was a very good little girl.

There was a present from one of my farmers yesterday when I got in the office. It is a wooden step stool with Jenna's name carved into it. The letters remove to act as a puzzle. I hope to take her picture with it tonight. I would have done it last night, but we went and interviewed a babysitter. She seemed pretty nice and reasonably priced, so I think she might be my favorite so far!

I hope to take some pictures of Jenna and her stool tonight, so keep a look out!

Tummy Time

As I promised yesterday, I was going to finish my day ooohh-ing and ahhh-ing over Jenna. We were laying on the floor, having tummy time and I thought I would show everyone what she is now capable of... She can hold the pose for several minutes, but to get her head up that high, her mouth usually looks like the second picture, her tongue sticking out, and her legs working as a counter balance, sticking up in the air, too!
The rewards for spending time on my tummy on the floor with her are priceless.

A productive last day of Maternity Leave

There is nothing like a deadline...
Today is my last day of maternity leave. I am dissapointed, nervous, and excited all at the same time. I am dissappointed to not be able to spend my day as I wish, chillin with Jenna, nervous about how she is going to do going back to work with me, and excited to get a little routine and consistency back in my life.

As the title indicated, today has been a very productive day. Today we have...
went to the doctor - I am very excited to say that I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I got on the scales at the doctor's office and was actually happy to see my weight.
met Carla for lunch - I ordered some hairbows for some friends from Purdue's new baby, but I didn't get them in the mail yet.
She has a website where you can see more of her creations.

got a haircut -it is NOT a mommy haircut, I just trimmed a couple inches off to make it look better.
went to Boonville- I got a copy of Jenna's birth certificate, filed papers for property tax exemptions, and dropped off a birth announcement at the Boonville Standard. While I was at the Standard, I picked up Ciara's picture from her birth announcement in August.

I got all this done by 4:00. I think this may have been the most productive day I have had since the Saturday we moved.

Now to finish my productive day, I am going to go ooohhh and ahhh over my precious little girl and take her outside for a walk!

My First Bottle

I wanted to give Jenna a bottle, just to make sure she would take to it and eat. So daddy got the honors of feeding Jenna her first bottle. She took to it like a champ. Daddy did a good job feeding her!
Jenna has really been grinning today, which is a nice change of pace from yesterday. I am not quick enough with the camera to catch all the grins, but I did capture a good picture

Then I wanted a picture of me and Jenna. All the pictures I have of me and Jenna are not pretty. So I self portraited the two of us and actually captured a good grin.
