My Knight in Shining Armor

My husband is a very sweet man. The ice in the parking lot at the apartment complex is pretty slick. I hadn't been outside in 3 days, since I am able to work from home; however, I really needed to get to the office and get some work done (finish up W-2s). Lance completely cleaned off my car last night. Then he walked me to my car and drove me to work. Awwww, wasn't that sweet of him! I am not sure if I should call him my knight in shining armor, somehow, I believe it would be more fitting to call him my knight in heavy Carhartt.

Initially I thought I would be fortunate to be pregnant in the winter. No being excessively hot during the warmest season of the year. Now I realize, there is nothing scarier than the thought of being 38 weeks pregnant and slipping on the ice.

Slippin & Sliding (or not)

We got hit hard with a winter storm over the past couple of days. I was a little surprised this morning when I received a phone call from the doctor's office cancelling my appointment. I don't guess I would have been so surprised, but the doctors office is located at the Women's Hospital on a larger hospital campus.

I guess it's good they cancelled on me, because I hadn't been able to get through the phone system to call and tell them I wasn't coming. Meanwhile, we have no baby update.

I have been working with Jenna to convince her that she wants to stay in Mommy's belly a little bit longer. She gets pretty active from time to time and makes me nervous. I look out the window and press my bare belly up against the glass, telling her it's warmer where she is than it is out here, that she better stay put! I don't know if it will work or not, but no harm in trying!

A Fabulous Friday

Today is a wonderful day! Several special things are celebrated today. First of all, we have officially made it to a full term pregnancy! We are 37 weeks! YAY.

The other thing that makes today special, is 4 years ago, Lance took me for a walk across the pedestrian bridge in Lafayette, got down on one knee (in the snow) and asked me to marry him.

The weather that day was just a beautiful as today. Earlier in the week it had snowed, but it was a 40+ degree day, just like today!

Dr Appointment 36 weeks 5 days

We started the morning by getting the car seat checked. Congrats to Daddy for propperly installing the carseat! Then we ventured over to the hospital for our weekly doctor's appointment. Nothing much happened. Blood pressure was up, swelling was down, weight was down. I had lost 1.5 pounds since last week. Jenna's heart rate was 142, which has been pretty constant. I am now measuring average (as opposed to 2 cm big) with 37 cm and 37 weeks. Next week he intends to look and see if we are making progress toward delivery.

Basically everything is ready for Jenna's arrival. We have registered at the hospital, had the car seat inspected, and we have a breastfeeding class tonight. Other than getting a few minor supplies, we are set. We know it won't be too long now.

Kent Turned ONE!

This is a belated birthday wish to Kent Hofmann, our nephew. He turned one on the 12th. He and big sister Kaity are looking forward to his birthday party on Sunday. Lance and I are not planning to attend, due to the travel distance this late in the pregnancy. So, Happy Birthday "Buddy"!
