Getty-up Horsey

I had mentioned a few posts earlier that my aunt had given us a rocking horse that my Grandpa Gumbel had made back in the day when I was a child.  Jenna has really taken a liking to the rocking horse.  I got some pictures of her playing on it Saturday.

She can mount and un-mount all by herself!
Stopping to grin!

She thinks she is hot stuff riding the horsey.  A little encouragement of "getty-up horsey, getty-up horsey" gets her grinning and giggling like none other!

Pfaltzgraff Irony

After Lance and I got married, we spent some of our wedding money on a large set of Pfaltzgraff dishes.  We use the dishes at pretty well every meal.  While I was pregnant with Jenna, I dropped a soup/cereal bowl while empting the dishwasher.  Last week, I was empting the dishwasher and dropped a second soup/cereal bowl.  I found it ironic that during each pregnancy I dropped one dish, the same piece, and those are the only two pieces from the set that have been broken (I am knocking on wood now).

I decided that I should probably replace the bowls to keep it a true "set".  I got on Pfaltgraff online to order my 2 bowls as open-stock pieces.  Then I looked around a little more and started a wish list.  Lance thought I made a pretty big wish list and told me I should go ahead and order what I wanted.
The two bowls on in the lower right are the bowls I have broken and was replacing.  Pfaltzgraff has started making dishes out of Melamine.  I ordered a matching set of 8 dinner plates, 8 salad plates (little people plates), 8 cereal bowls, 2 serving bowls and a rectangular tray, and my salt and pepper shakers!

37 Weeks

Today, I am officially 37 weeks pregnant.  This means I officially have carried Shelby to full term.  I had a doctor's appointment this morning for a regular check-up.

Shelby's heart rate was a strong 145.  Shelby / my belly continues to grow and measure a week to week and a half ahead of schedule.  She has been very active the last few days.  We are getting excited and have been given signs that we are getting close to meeting miss Shelby.  I will try to take a tummy photo and add it to this post tomorrow for those of you who haven't seen me/us lately.

Population Explosion!

I guess it is just where I am in life, but it seems as if there has been a population explosion!  There are six of my high school classmates, three friends from Purdue, one colleague, a cousin, and two from the camping crew ... and me...all currently pregnant or have had babies in the last 6-8 weeks.

Katie (classmate) had Cora
April & Josh (both classmates) had Madeline and Maverick
Wendy & Dan (both Purdue) had Isaiah
Katie (classmate) had Adelyn
Nick & Rachel (cousin) had Isabelle
Michael/Julie (coworker) had Jacob
Annlena (classmate) had Hannah

I had thought about typing this post for a day or two and before today the tone of it was going to be more of an I'm ready, ohhh I am so ready to meet Shelby.  Our hospital bags are packed and in the car.  Most everything is ready in the baby's room.  I am ready.

Today, I was reminded exactly how important the baby living inside of mommy truely is.  My college roommate Freshman, Junior and Senior years, Sarah, was expecting a baby in September.  They got to meet her last night.  Faith Elizabeth, the baby, weighs in just over a pound and is fighting very hard to stay alive right now.  Please say a prayer for Faith, Sarah and Darryl.

Good Luck to those of you who are pregnant and due in a few months, Jenna and I continue to pray for her sister and the babies that have yet to make their debut!

Brooke (classmate) - didn't find out - is full-term
Me - Shelby will be full term Friday!
Mindy (classmate) - girl
Kristina (Purdue) - girl
Barbara (camping crew) - boy
Bonnie (camping crew) - girl

I do think it's somewhat odd, of the 14 babies only 3 (possibly 4) are boys!

All in a Week's Time

The last week has been filled with all kinds of little things.

Friday afternoon I had 2 surprises when I picked up Jenna from daycare.  She had hand painted me a canvas for mother's day.  I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but need too.  The second surprise was  she was running a fever, 102.9.

Saturday, we were going to go to Poseyville to yard sales with Carla, but opted out with Jenna still running a fever.  Sunday, Lance, Jenna and I made breakfast and I got my mother's day gift.... a precious homemade card and a magnolia tree.

Sunday evening, we went over to Carla and Matt's house to celebrate mother's day and my Mom's birthday.  We had a very nice family get together!  Thanks Carla for having us!

Today, (Tuesday) we are 30 days from our ultrasound due date.   I am getting very excited, nervous, and ready to meet Miss Shelby.  We go back to the doctor on Friday for our 36 week check-up.  We shouldn't do anything more than weight, urine, and blood pressure check... so nothing super exciting.
