Curly Sue

Shelby is definately my "Curly Sue".  One morning it was extremely humid and Miss Shelby's hair was full of natural curl.  I have the exact opposite problem of Shelby...my hair is straight with zero natural curl.  Forgive it for being so crazy, as she still had "bed head".  But, I am trying to figure out what I should be doing with all these curls.

She wakes up this way at least once or twice a week and when she has been playing outside at daycare her hair typically looks like this.  Combing it straight is not right, I need lessons on the best way to handle her curly hair!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Weekend was a whirl-wind of a weekend.  Saturday, Lance had to work until 4pm at the store. He had not been notified as to rather he would be required to work on Monday or not, so we had a wait-and-see plan.  When he found out they got Monday off, we formalized plans to go visit my parents and help on the farm.  So, I made a trip to Brazil to pick up seed beans and then headed to Vincennes to pick-up Lance to finish the trip south.

Sunday, Dad got finished planting corn and came back to the house to clean up to head to graduation party.  Tim Schaefer graduated from North High School and we were invited to his party.  I have known Tim since he became part of the Schaefer family.  Our families have been very close and I have always considered him like a little brother.

Jenna was very excited to go to Tim's party.  Especially since the outfit she got to wear was purple and had butterflies (her 2 favorite things).  She took a pretty good picture for me before we left.  I think Shelby was still asleep at this point.

Monday, Lance sprayed and Dad started planting beans.  After naps, I took Jenna and Shelby to the park in Selvin. Jenna told me she didn't have any fun because they only had 2 slides and 2 swings.  So after 30 mintues we left.  We went over to see our farm at Boonville (which Lance had sprayed earlier on Monday) and then went to look at a farm nearby that is for sale.

It was late when we got home, but the girls enjoyed getting to see Mawmaw and Poppy over the weekend.

Bouncin' Barn

On Tuesday, 5/21/13, Learn-A-Lot Preschool and Daycare went on a year-end field trip to the Bouncin' Barn in Terre Haute.  This is a large building with multipe inflatables inside.  No one from the daycare had been before, but everyone was pleased with the trip.  They asked for adult volunteers, so Lance went with the girls and ss a chaperone for the group.  They were happy to have an adult male to help with the little boys.

I am sorry most of the pictures are blurry, they were taken on a camera phone and most everyone was moving when any given picture was taken!

Shelby and Kyle at the top.
Shelby headed down.

Lance took a couple videos too.  Mostly all you hear is laughter.  I think the kids had lots of fun.  It is definately something that on a rainy day or a winter day I would think about doing to help the kids burn off some energy!  They had a blast!  Pre-school is over for the summer.  They did not have any sort of year-end program, but Jenna did get a certificate of completion for the year.

31 Weeks

I had a another doctor's appointment to check in on Baby Brother today.  I should be on a 2 week schedule now, but went three weeks due to some scheduling complications.  He had a good strong heartbeat at 131 bpm.  I have been struggling with swelling from 28 to 31 weeks.  I spent 2 days and 2 nights in Louisville for work and ate out for every meal.  Food away from home and it's SALT content is not a pregnant gal's friend.

How far along: 31 weeks
Have you started to show yet: I am getting more random strangers to ask when the baby is due!
Total weight gain/loss: From my first appointment to today, I am +12.5 pounds.
Belly Button in or out? not really concave anymore, it's kinda getting flat now
Rings on/off: Depends on the day.  I didn't wear them Thurs-Sunday but wore them comfortably today
Size of Baby: About 17 inches and estimated at 2.5 pounds!
Weird Changes: cankles
Sleep: Cannot get enough!
Best moment this week: Jenna felt baby brother kick!
Movement: is different as of the last couple days.  I asked Dr. C today if she could tell me if he was head up or head down and she said head down!
Stretch marks? Nothing new yet
Food cravings: fruit
Food aversions: anything salty!  It is amazing the salt content in certain foods!
Gender prediction: The ultrasound revealed external genitalia
What I miss: reaching the floor and my feet easily
What I am looking forward to: deciding on a name

Baby Boy

The nursery is all put back together.  I wondered if we were half crazy when we took everything out of the room and removed the baseboard.  We got the walls skimmed with plaster and the builder primered and painted.  I had a deadline for everyone of June 1 and was plesantly suprised when the room was all put back together by May 1.  I have finished decorating and preparing the room as of today.  Today, I purchased the first of my newborn sized diapers.  The changing table is stocked with tiny little sleepeers and cute little blue clothes!  I even have the clothes that I am going to pack for him at the hospital laying on the changing table.
The crib has been raised to the tall setting, mobile has been re-installed and bumper pad re-attached.
Dresser is fully stocked with extra diapers, wipes, blankets, and such
(since the room doesn't have a closet).
I think his room is ready to go!

On a side note.... NO, he still does not have a name.  His name for the time being is baby brother or baby boy.  We have been discussing names and have been working on narrowing down the list, but still haven't made the final decision.  So, for now his name is Baby Boy or Baby Brother....just ask his big sisters!
