Siding & Drywall

The house is coming along nicely.  The weather hasn't stopped them from working too much.  They have lost a couple of half days, but progress is still noticable daily!

To answer Carla's question, the siding is a light beige color.  They almost have the wall at our current bedroom done.

The wall by Jenna's room is done.
They started on the road front/bathroom/Shelby's room walls but didn't get any of them finished.
The drywall crew also started Monday.  They sheeted everything from my shoulders and up.
The great room.
The master bedroom.
The back side of the kitchen wall didn't get any sheeting hung.
Drywall is almost done in the bathroom.
Of course, some little girl liked to climb on the scrap piles left in every room!
Stairwell was missing one piece (lower right of picture).
I found it funny that none of the rooms and none of the walls were DONE.  The stairwell was closest and it was missing one little piece.  All the ceilings pieces were put in and everything above 4.5 foot was done.  Shelby can still walk through the non-insulated walls, but that will be over this evening, if I had to guess. They hadn't started on the basement or the garage yet.

New Appliances!

The interior of the house was supposed to remain unharmed with the exeption of the doorway between the kitchen and the new great room (the plywood to the R in the picture below).  However, when the concrete truck pulled the electric off the house and zapped the stove, microwave and other electronics in the house the plan had to change.  The appliance have been out of order for 3 days shy of 5 weeks.  This is the kitchen as we are removing old appliances.
The new stove and microwave are almost usable!
It took a few hours to get the wall bracket affixed and microwave fixed in the whole, but it is there and works again!!!!!  The new stove is a 5 burner.  It's really nice too.  Unfortunately, the guys didn't get it up and running before dinner last night.  So, tomorrow, I once again have a fully functioning kitchen!

Pinterest Project 1

There are all kinds of neat things on Pinterest.  I usually look at them and think, awww that's cute...but I haven't taken the time to make anything crafty I have found....until today.

Lance had to work this morning so the girls and I got out the paint and started the Hofmann version of a Pinterest craft project.  I didn't think it turned out too shabby!

As cute as they turned out I cannot wait to start Pinterest craft project #2.  I have used Pinterest for receipes and they have been okay, some better than others.

Naked!

I got home from work last night and said, "my house is naked!"  The house did have a filthy white siding.  Now it just has the particle board and is waiting for it's new covering.
Looking South.
Looking north, they got started, just not finished.
Looking east, they got the back side of the garage done.

Looking at the walkout.
Not only was the siding crew starting their work on Monday, the insulation crew started their work on Monday as well.  We have spray on insulation on all exterior walls.  At the moment the interior house walls look like the have been covered by Pepto Bismol!

Another House Update

We continue to make progress daily around our house!  Friday we got the 4 garage doors installed.
The truck fits in the first bay, but just barely.  The laundry room and garage entry to the house make it a less than desirable fit.
The garage is serving as storage to left-over lumber, siding, doors, and electrical fixtures at the moment.
The elelctrician has been working very hard.  We have 2 working lights in the new part at the moment.  They run off the switch that used to control the back porch light.
The new fuse box.
The re-located light switch for the existing basement.
Both bathroom fans are installed.
The plumbing has wrapped up too.  This is our injecter pump.
And our new hot water heater and lines running from the hot water heater!
