Good-bye Garage!

This was the garage storage building that came with our property when we purchased it in 2005.  It has not had any real functionality.  This weekend, we decided to tear it down.  It happens to be standing in the way of us buidling a new garage...literally!

 The garage as it stood...
 Cleadning out all the stuff
 Down with the walls
 Down with the roof
 Down with the building
Our good friend the John Deere 2855!  It did a lot of our heavy lifting.
The beginning of the pile.  Good bye out house!
 Good-bye walls!
 Good-bye concrete slab!
Hello bare ground!

A special thanks to Lance's Dad, Stanley, for all his help and providing the tractor with forks.  Also a special thanks to Joe Hofmann for helping us have a very destructive & productive weekend!

Shelby's Photo Shoot

Shelby had a very short photo shoot because she would not cooperate.  She would get this strange forced smile and flare out the neck tendons, making her look a little scary.  So these are the only 3 pictures I ended up with from Shelby.  I may try again on a different day when she is in a different mood.

Jenna Photo Shoot

Saturday was a beautiful day.  After the Clay County Nature Day, we got home and put Shelby down for a nap.  Jenna had a 30 minute quiet time and was ready to go again.  Since Shelby was sleeping, I grabbed a couple of my favorite Jenna outfits and we headed outside with the camera.  The following is what I got....

Well?

We have a resident gopher, his name is Lance.  Our gopher has spent the summer digging holes, trenches, and mounding dirt in our yard.  The resident gopher has a purpose to all the digging.  This time we were looking for our well head.  We had dug it up once before, out of curiousity, but couldn't remember its exact location.  So, there were 3 new holes dug in the yard to find the well.  It is still uncovered.  Fortunately, we have not had problems with water during the drought, just needed to find it for another project we have in the works.

Needless to say papa gopher had help from his two baby gophers.

Library

Today the entire daycare had a fieldtrip during pre-school time.  Since I had already scheduled today as a day off, I decided to go as a chaperone.  I hadn't been to a local library, well, since I've been a local.  Technically, since I graduated from Purdue.

Anyway there were 15 kids and 5 adults.  I transported Jenna, Avery, and Shelby.
The kids were given a book to keep during their visit to the library.  Jenna got "Summer Treasure" by Margaret McNamara and Shelby got "Purrfect Friends" by Martha Speaks.  They also had story time.  This month they have been working on the color red, so all the books had to do with a red character.  They read on of the Clifford books, "Little Red Riding Hood", and "The Red Girl"

The picture below was during story time. L-R Isaac, Joshua, Kingston, Jenna.
Each of the kids got their pictures taken.  Jenna was being a stinker and they threatened her that Mommy wasn't going to be allowed to go on field trips if she didn't straighten up....
Jenna was being very sweet this morning.  There was a new boy that joined pre-school this week (today), named Joshua.  Jenna came over to me and said, his name starts with a "J" just like mine.  I agreed.  She said, "he is new."  I told her that she should go over and say 'hi'.  She replies with, "he is going to be my best friend today!"  I giggled and told her that was very sweet.  I don't know if Joshua has joined daycare all day or just the preschool portion, but either way, I thought it was cute.

On an exciting note, while we were at the library, Shelby told me 'poop', so we went to the bathroom and she did!  I was excited and so was Miss Anita!
