The last week to ten days we have been fighting the sniffles, snot and coughs. If my cloudy head can remember it correctly, Shelby started all of this. She started with a really runny nose, which I had attributed to my tooth-less teething baby. Then my nose started running. By Thursday afternoon I was feeling so rough that I went home early from work. Jenna has gotten the cough and sniffles, but not really the snot like we Shelby and I. I know this is not an attractive post, but I keep getting told that I need to update the blog and this has consumed our week and weekend.
On a very positive note, Jenna went potty 3 times on Sunday, while we were in town getting groceries, necessities, etc. We were very proud of her, she has her days when she is more interested and does a better job than others. Our little girl is really growing up!

Jenna ~ 25 months
Jenna's personality, imagination, and language skills are growing exponentially every day. It is amazing to watch her grow and to see the world through a two year old's eyes.
Jenna has started pouting. It is sooooo cute. When she gets in trouble for something, her feelings get really hurt. She usually walks into another room or away from her disciplinarian and pouts. Here is a picture of Jenna pouting while Grammy and Poppy were visiting last weekend.
He languange skills have grown so much over the past month. She is becoming very vocal and is able to communicate by stringing multiple words together. Her most recent was Monday night after Grammy and Poppy brought the swingset. "Mommy, I want swing." I think I have heard her tell me that 50 times since the swingset has moved north.
Thursday night, she came up and told me that cow says moo, after that I tested her and she told me that the pig says oink, cat says meow, dog says arff (very high pitched), duck says quack. I asked her what Mommy says and she looked at me very puzzled. She knows all of her body parts. We are still working on her colors and ABCs.

Shelby ~ 9 months
Shelby turned 9 months old. She had her well child doctor's appointment on Thursday. We had NO shots :) with this visit. She now weighs 16 pounds 11 ounces and is 26 3/4 inches tall. She is in the bottom 25th percentile in both height and weight. This isn't the best picture but we are teething right now. She still has no teeth, but is working very hard on them.

Swing
Last weekend Grammy and Poppy Rentchler came up for a visit and to bring us the swingset from the Newburgh house. We had a very nice visit.
Shelby played with Poppy
Jenna played with Grammy
and vice-versa.
The "real" reason for the visit was to get the swing set from our Newburgh house. The weather was very chilly and not suitable for anything other than visiting. No more than Poppy and Daddy got the swingset unloaded Jenna wanted to go outside and swing.
We snapped this picture just before Grammy and Poppy left. Jenna was very difficult to get off the swing and it was only in the upper 40s that day. We finally got Jenna in the house and she was complaining because her hands hurt (they got very cold). The weather has been a little too chilly to enjoy the swingset too much yet. There will be more details about the swingset in the coming days.

On the Road
On Friday night, I picked up the the girls from the new sitter and got stopped by a train. The railroad engineer blew his horn "choo choo". Jenna's eyes got huge. She said "Mommy, choo choo!" It was a VERY long train, but I was extrememly entertained while we were railroaded. Jenna was in awe!
On Saturday we went to Washington. We had dinner at the Black Buggy. We drove through a John Deere lot on the trip south. Jenna started pointing at everything and was yelling "Ombine, Ombine." Every tractor, sprayer and combine was called a combine by Miss Jenna. She has definately been a character to ride in a vehicle with lately.
After Daddy finished his work business, Jenna awoke from her nap and we went to the park in Washington. It was a very nice park with lots of things for smaller kids.

The girls LOVED to swing!
This was Shelby's first time swining outside. She was a little scared at first, but she was giggling a short time later.I don't have any pictures, but Jenna loved the big metal slide. It was probably a 10 foot tall slide and she was climbing the steps and sliding down with no fears. Daddy climbed the steps behind her and I caught her at the bottom. She had a blast. Needless to say we had a good time and were all worn out by time we were done at the park.
