Could It Be?

We had a very productive weekend. We were working on our "to do" list before Jenna comes and well, we made a big dent in it.
Daddy installed the car seat, Mommy finished packing the bags and carried them down to the car. We went shopping for those last few missing items and got them put in their place. I finished thank you notes and confirmed my registeration in breastfeeding class.
Could it be....I think our "to do" list now involves rest and enjoying the rest of the "quiet" time we have before she comes. It's reassuring to think that if she were to come today we would be mostly ready (other than Daddy is in Fort Wayne this week).

A Little Bit Every Day

I have decided I have to break down all the things I want to do before the baby comes down and just accomplish one task every day, otherwise it may not get done. Here is what we have accomplished this week:
Monday: Thank you notes from baby shower (page 1) & Laundry
Assemble pack-n-play
Tuesday: Thank you notes from baby shower (page 2) & Laundry
Enough laundry is done that Jenna's crib is now completely ready.
Wednesday: Complete call list of doctors, family, and work for when baby comes.
Thursday: Distribute call list, Pack hospital bag for Mommy & Daddy
Friday: Pack bag for Jenna at hospital

Items on next week's "to do" list
  • Install car seat
  • Put hospital bags in car
  • Finish laundry
  • Finish thank-you notes
  • Go to doctor for last 2 week interval check up
  • Confirm registration for breastfeeding class
  • Shop for a few missing items

Congrats & A Laundry First

I would like to say congratulations to Jason and Bonnie on welcoming their little Lexi to the world yesterday. You have lit a fire under me and made me realize that it won't be long and my little girl will be here too!
With that being said, I started doing laundry like mad last night. I tried to do right and separate my loads by color. Since the nursery is going to have the Winnie the Pooh decor' I had a whole load of yellow laundry last night. I must say, I have done a load of jeans, whites, reds/pinks, and blues before, but a whole load of yellow was a true first. When the laundry came out of the dryer, it looked like I could have made my own Pooh bear out of the lent!

Baby Shower

My sister, Carla, and my Mom threw me a very nice baby shower on Sunday. I would like to say thank you to those of you who attended the shower. I recieved many nice gifts and had a lovely time celebrating our family addition with everyone. There were several cameras floating around on Sunday, but I haven't gotten any pictures from them yet. When I get some pictures, I will share them.

Today, my friend Bonnie (who was due 13 days ahead of me) is in labor. I realize exactly how much stuff I need to get done before Miss Jenna makes her arrival...and I am starting to get nervous. I am 34 1/2 weeks.....

The New Year

It has been a week since my last post and not too much exciting has happened. I took down all the Christmas decorations a little early so I could clean good before the baby shower and all the baby stuff starts taking over the apartment tomorrow.

As for the pregnancy, Lance says that my belly has grown dramatically over the last couple of weeks. He has also noticed I am starting to have problems with swelling. It all started on Christmas Eve with the ham, then Christmas day with more ham....now it's all the time. I had to take off my wedding band and my socks leave funky indentions on my ankles.

We hope you had a wonderful 2008 and wish you all well in 2009!
