I work for Farm Credit Services of Mid-America. We loan farmers money for operating expenses, equipment, livestock, buildings, real estate, and many other things. We also lend rural residents money for home loans. I work in a region that covers all SW Indiana, from Terre Haute to Corydon, diagonally. We have been a smaller region. My boss made some lofty goals for our region and we met them. As a reward, all the employees in the region, along with their spouse, were treated to an over-night stay at the French Lick Resort.
Friday night I picked up Lance at Vincennes Tractor and dropped off the kids with Poppy Bob. We headed to the French Lick Winery for wine tasting and dinner with my colleagues.
Saturday was free time. We started with an awesome breakfast. We then took a tour of our hotel and then a tour of the West Baden Springs Hotel.
The West Baden Springs Hotel has a giant dome!
It is a beautiful hotel on the inside.
The hotel had beautiful floors. Mosaic tile floors made in beautiful patterns.
This picture is sideways, but this gal was playing the harp. Her music was heavenly!
Ever wonder how French Lick got its name? We learned the answer to that question this weekend. The town was settled by the French. The town has sulfur water and the town is know for its salt licks. Hence it was dubbed French Lick.
