Mother's Day 2013

I made a trip south for the weekend, Sunday was not only mother's day, but also my momma's birthday.  We started the day by going to church at St. Francis in Poseyville.  After church we went to Carla's house to celebrate and for dinner.  Before the girls got changed we snapped a few pictures.
Carla, Ciara, Mattison, Joann, Shelby, Christa, Jenna

After presents and lunch we got a tour of Matt and Carla's future residence.  It was a nice day spent with family!

For Mother's Day, my little girls made a craft for their momma, as well as both grandmas.  This was a Pinterest inspired project, which I thought turned out pretty well.

Addition to the Landscape

I work in a small office with two wonderful people.  One of them, Kathy, offered to let me get some starts from her landscape to make additions to my landscape plants.  I took her up on the offer on Wednesday night (had to find a night it was dry enough to accomplish the job.  Sunday, after getting back from a visit to my parents/sister's house, I planted my plants.   These are on the north side of the house which is shaded by the existing house.  Mostly I got hostas (my choice).
New hostas below my master bedroom window.
I also got 3 brown eyed susan starts from Kathy.  I have one that is huge and has spread but lost the others in my bed.  So hopefully these new ones will take over and fill in!
This is my rose bush from mother's day 3 years ago.  It is now taller than Jenna, really filling out, and full of buds!

Mushroom Hunting

I have several customers that are avid mushroom hunters.  So, when I see them during mushroom season, I ask about the "pickings".  I had one tell me that a bad year for farming is a good year for mushrooms.  Several weeks ago I had heard some chatter about how small the mushrooms were.  My source said the mushrooms were huge this week.  I decided to go for a walk after work the last couple of nights.  I didn't find many, but the ones I did are the biggest morells I have ever seen or picked!

That is a normal sized sharpie.  I looked and looked and looked for the third mushroom's brother, but never found it.

28 Weeks

I had a doctor's appointment to check in on Baby Brother on April 30.  Good strong heartbeat at 136 bpm and a healthy momma, what more could one ask for?  Doc measured my belly and I asked her how I was measuring.  Doc said 2 weeks ahead of schedule.  This is the same I measured ahead with both girls!

How far along: 28 weeks

Have you started to show yet: I am getting random strangers to ask when the baby is due!

Total weight gain/loss: From my first appointment to today, I am +8.5 pounds.

Belly Button in or out? it's just weird.

Rings on/off: On

Size of Baby: About 15 inches and estimated at 2 pounds!

Weird Changes: ......

Sleep: Getting better

Best moment this week: Third Trimester begins!

Movement: high and low, not much between

Stretch marks? Nothing new yet

Food cravings: rice!

Food aversions: Fish, shrimp, and anything fishy smelling!  Add to that tomato based anything - it causes too much heartburn

Gender prediction: The ultrasound revealed external genitalia

What I miss: sleeping on my belly / bladder capacity

What I am looking forward to: meeting my little guy!

Name options: several people have asked.  At this point his name is baby boy or little brother.  That is what he is refered to at home and in conversation.  I don't know when we will settle on a name.....

PS. I back dated several posts (sorry I have been so far behind!)

Ride Home

Several evenings from coming home from daycare I have ended up with two bobble heads in the back seat.

These poor things play so hard outside at daycare that they cannot resist snoozing on the way home from daycare.  I am not a fan of this.  They nap for an hour or so and then are set to go until 11pm or later.  We are working on a solution, but waking them up only makes for monsters instead of bobble heads.
